A kitchen shaped by the river and the seasons
The Tweedside Kitchen began as a two-table bakery counter in 2016, tucked into a converted stable behind Kelso's Knowes. Nearly a decade on, we're still doing the same thing: baking each morning before sunrise, buying what the Borders' farms and rivers give us, and cooking it simply enough that the ingredients do the talking.
Our dining room looks straight over the water to the old bridge, and on fair mornings the terrace fills first — dogs under the tables, walkers off the Tweed path, and regulars who've had the same order since we opened.

A few kind words
"The soup and sandwich on a wet Tuesday, sat right by the window over the river — it's become our whole family's Sunday habit."
Margaret H.
Kelso local
"Stopped in off the Tweed walk with muddy boots and a dog — nobody blinked. The trout was the best I've had in the Borders."
Callum R.
Walking holiday, Peebles
"Booked the terrace for my mother's 70th. They remembered her tea order from a booking six months earlier. That's the whole place, really."
Aisha K.
